Dog Stories

Ikillez rescue K9 who loves, protects and lots of fun.

Our dog’s name is Ikillez we think he’s a 7-8 yrs old Shepard mix (mainly German Shepard, Rottweiler).

He’s been trained for service and protection, exclusively at Lion K9 of Woodland, CA.  He’s been to several Sacramento Kings games. He’s flown across the country with Southwest Airlines. He’s also road-tripped across the country 5 times now. He loves doing whatever it is we are doing. If we were jumping into a volcano, he’d be right there. He loves to go paddle boarding and on motorcycle rides. He’s tried more things and traveled to more places than most people. Ikillez listens to everything we say as he looks up under the brim of my hat waiting for the next punch line, how can you not love a dog!

Companionship from Spinoza heals a broken heart.

We just called him Spinoza. In 2012 after my son passed away, I was living in California. My husband was working in Idaho. During that empty time in my life, I received a call from friends suggesting I shouldn’t be alone and that they had the perfect dog for me. So days later, they brought him to me. He was 3 1/2 pounds, and to me, he was sheer perfection and just what I needed after the loss of my son. He traveled everywhere with me. He had his little bag and always knew I was going somewhere because he would run and jump into that little bag and wait for me. It’s easy to see with the wagging and happy barking when we say let’s GO!

Spinoza has been on airplanes, gone for long car drives, and even on horseback; he went everywhere!

That 3 1/2 pound lovie healed my heart, and when it was time for him to leave this earth in November 2020 I was heartbroken and devastated. He was full of energy and had a quirky personality. Spinoza is forever in my heart, and he has a place on the mantle with the rest of our beloved pets. I feel his presence every day.

Fun times with Ruffus
and Rosie.

Just in Personality Plus, two family favorites born in August 2011 became a part of our family at 8 weeks old. Ruffus (American Boxer) and Rosie (German Boxer) were trained to guard and respond to voice and non-verbal hand commands. The family pets were leash trained with or without. Now, this is where you might be envious that both pets were part of the Jet Set community and traveled with their owner all over California, Bodega Bay, Sierra Nevada, and Lake Tahoe. Sadly RUFFUS faun in color passed unexpectedly earlier in 2022 he is missed and will always have a special place in our family’s memories. Rosie the brindle in color is a German Boxer who receives an overabundance of love the way it should be. The bone structure in the German breed is slightly larger and their noise is generally smaller than the American Boxer.

Daisy Fromm adds companionship and is a great exerciser!

Meet Daisy who has been part of the Fromm family for 10 plus years and the sweetest pal ever. Rescue Lab Daisy likes to help in the kitchen, go for hikes, and lay around watching dog videos. We love our Daisy. A day without Daisy is a Day without Sunshine.

We Celebrate Holidays & Birthdays with our pooches and love it!

Bundles of Love! Yoshi is wearing the hat Justan adds My Dog is My Heart. Some days Yoshi would look at me as if he understood what I was saying with a tilted head. Sadly Yoshi passed in 2021 and was a Rescue. Princess blond in color is also a Rescue we found her wandering the streets of a small town in Texas. Our family’s new little man is Luigi all black and a purebred Dachshund. I see mischief looking back. Our dogs teach us about love, they depart to teach us about loss. Their heart is pure gold and adding another lesson there is no shame in growing old.

Ploppers healed a broken heart & short lived.

Ploppers is his name! Here’s Melanies story about her dog’s short life. Lonely needing a friend Mel receives a phone call announcement from a friend we will have a house full of puppies in a few days. Ploppers was a mixed chihuahua.

Sadly, Plopper’s personality was mischievous and snuck out from the back yard.

My search took me to my neighbor who informed me, he hit my dog with his car and killed instantly. Such sadness only 3-year-old in that short time Ploppers managed to put a smiled on my face ear to ear.

Lesson learned, frequently check your dog’s enclosure making sure it’s secure and has no spots they can squeeze out and potentially get hit by a car.

    1. Hello Thank you for your feedback; I would love to post more true-life stories about the pet parent and canine family member. Tell your friend to download 3 great pet photos and a short story then I will feature a spot of them on my site.

    1. Hello Thank you for providing your feedback.
The many individuals who don’t abuse their dog rather hold that relationship in merit
deserve applauds. Trained properly that K9 can protect the family, fetch the ball with a child,
and provided happy reactions when you get home from work. That’s big WOW on Your Day!
